Biography
Joshua Hains is a seasoned family law attorney who has spent nearly two decades guiding clients through life’s most personal and pivotal transitions. Before joining Hollingsworth Law Group, Josh built and ran his own successful practice, where he earned a reputation for his steady presence, practical wisdom, and genuine care for the people he serves. His work reflects the very heart of “Divorce Done Differently” — combining skillful advocacy with compassion, clarity, and respect.
Josh’s practice includes the full range of family law matters: divorce, child custody and support, parenting time, adoptions, guardianships, spousal maintenance, protective orders, and pre- and post-nuptial agreements. He is deeply committed to keeping clients informed, empowered, and supported at every stage of the legal process, helping them find solutions that protect both their present stability and their future peace of mind.
An Indiana native, Josh earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in Psychology from Wittenberg University in Ohio, where he also played soccer and was an active member of Beta Theta Pi. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2006. Since then, he has represented clients in family law, civil litigation, and even federal criminal defense — experience that gives him a well-rounded perspective and strong advocacy skills.
Outside the courtroom, Josh is passionate about giving back to his community. He has volunteered with the Volunteer Lawyer Network, Kids’ Voice of Indiana, and the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Pro Bono Standing Committee.
Josh, his wife, and their two daughters live in Carmel with their two dogs and two cats. In both his personal and professional life, Josh leads with integrity, kindness, and a deep dedication to family — values that make him a natural and invaluable part of the HLG team.
